A "Humble" Impact In Just A Few Months

At the beginning of the year, Gamers Outreach was selected as Humble Bundle’s featured charity for the month of January. That entire month, 5% of every Humble Choice membership signup was donated to Gamers Outreach.

Through this partnership, made just a few months ago, Humble has successfully funded multiple GO Karts, portable gaming kiosks that provide entertainment for children in hospitals. That’s been absolutely key to our mission of helping kids and their families in hospitals.
The Power of Play
Hospitals are supposed to be a place of healing. Unfortunately, for many people around the world, healthcare centers incite fear for different reasons. We believe the Power of Play through video games takes that fear and dread away. Play brings laughter. Laughter brings smiles, and smiles are a sign that everything is going to be okay.

We want to live in a world where video games in hospitals are the norm. We want kids and families to go to the hospital to heal, and seeing a GO Kart can take that stress away. We live for that sense of normalcy, and we appreciate all the help we get from partners like Humble in making this playful world a reality.
Humble’s Impact
As of this August, all 25 of those GO Karts have been shipped to healthcare facilities around the country–17 of them to be exact. Many of them are even receiving a GO Kart for the first time.

The GO Karts at these hospitals are estimated to account for 72,500 play sessions a year in their new homes.
We’re all gamers at Gamers Outreach, and we have our share of fans and supporters of Humble Bundle. Getting a bunch of games at great prices is awesome, but knowing these purchases help bring even more games to kids in hospitals is the best part.
