GO Kart Quest Update – Q3 2024

General News | November 15, 2024

As we gear up for the good tidings of the holiday season, we wanted to take the opportunity to update the community on our mission of fulfilling all outstanding GO Kart requests from wishlist hospitals.

We’ll spend some time talking about the impact last quarter in this update, but we also wanted to give you a quick visual: The map above indicates EVERY location a GO Kart has been placed from the beginning of the year through the end of September.

More Smiles To New Faces

Monroe Carell Jr. Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN.

Last quarter, we mentioned that we’ve placed 245 GO Kart 3.0 units in hospitals so far this year. We’re proud to announce that as of September 30, we’ve successfully placed another 125 GO Karts, bringing us to a total of 370 GO Kart 3.0 units fulfilled in 2024.

We look at the GO Kart as more than just a portable video game kiosk. They’re more than just fun and entertainment for anybody that uses one. They represent joy, hope, and excitement. These are qualities that children need in order to have a sense of normalcy that’s become increasingly hard to find in hospitals, and GO Karts can provide all that and more.

These newly placed GO Karts provide a more than lasting impact, supporting up to an estimated 1,073,000 gaming experiences annually. That’s over a million smiles, a million moments of hope, and a million reasons to be excited as all this can bring emotional healing for hospitalized children and their loved ones worldwide.

More Smiles To New Places

In addition to these newly placed GO Karts, our efforts have reached 223 different health care facilities to date in a variety of different territories. This ensures children from different walks of life have a chance at finding that sense of normalcy video games can provide.

Interested in seeing if a GO Kart is present at a facility near you? The interactive map on the site’s homepage is a great place to check!

Here’s a look at just a few of the locations newly added to the fleet:

Social Media Manager Brandon Leuner and members of the National Taiwan University Children's Hospital
You might have noticed the flag of Taiwan in the post above, and that’s because we recently fulfilled GO Karts for NTU Children’s Hospital in Taipei with the help of our partners at CRE8! The patients and staff were overjoyed, but it was also a special moment because our Social Media Manager also lives in Taiwan.

While we’ll always be focused on our mission helping hospitalized children, we’d be remiss to not take the time during a month known for gratitude to give thanks to everyone who has joined our fundraising efforts, donated, streamed, or spread the word about Gamers Outreach. Absolutely none of this happens without you, and anybody who’s ever contributed to Gamers Outreach should feel proud about the difference they’re making in people’s lives. THANK YOU!

Take Part In Side Quests

We hope you enjoyed all the good news we had to share, but it goes without saying we aren’t done. We just wrapped up the first month of Q4, which means we didn’t even include the results of the Spooktacular Streamathon in this update!

One More Thing…

To close, we wanted to mention that we’ll be capping off the year with ONE MORE fundraising event!

On December 18th through the 21st, join the Jolly Jamboree, our end-of-the-year celebration bringing smiles to hospitalized children and their families with the gift of gaming, where the power of play is all the more important during the holidays.
