Thanks to the generosity of the Serious Gaming community, kids within Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego, California got a special visit from a few local gamers, who had a special gift up their sleeve: a brand new GO Kart! The GO Kart was constructed thanks to online fundraising efforts conducted by Serious Gaming over the course of Gamers for Giving 2015.
Rady Children’s is one of California’s largest children’s hospitals. In 2014 alone, the hospital provided care to more than 196,000 children. Of those kids, 18,499 were inpatient admissions.
Alan from Serious Gaming was on site to see the delivery through in person. We can’t give Alan and Victoria enough props for their effort in rallying the community to deliver this GO Kart. It will certainly be a source of joy and play for a number of patients being treated at the hospital.
