Thanks to the recent success of Gamers for Giving, we’ll soon be delivering a lot of video games to children in hospitals! Like… a lot.
Construction of our next batch of GO Karts is underway, and each unit will make a meaningful difference for kids and families undergoing treatment.
To that end, we wanted to provide a timeline for when deliveries will begin rolling out.
We’re currently expecting GO Karts funded via Gamers for Giving 2021 to begin shipping at some point in July, with fulfillment continuing through August/September.
Under normal circumstances, we expected to deliver units much sooner (e.g. this month), but our team is experiencing assembly delays due to a shortage of plastic resins. Recent factory halts due to COVID have caused a backlog in orders for some of the raw materials we use.
We wanted to provide this update as we know many of you are eager to see your units delivered. Our assembly crew is currently in a holding pattern as we wait for these last materials. But once received, GO Karts should be finished and shipped to intended hospitals fairly quickly.
As you can imagine, we’re quite eager to get these units into the world! Our team has been blown away by the generosity displayed in support of our mission.
If you’d like to organize a fundraiser to build GO Karts for a hospital in your community, check out our Project GO Kart page or the Donate page to learn how you can help. Any units funded will be added to our delivery queue this Fall.
As always, be sure to follow us on Twitter or stay tuned to our website for the latest news. We’ll update this blog article with any timeline updates as needed!
