Gamers Outreach and Hermitcraft have been working together for over three years, and we can’t be any happier with the impact of this partnership.
We’re coming off another record-breaking Gamers For Giving that raised over $1.7 million, and the Hermits are directly responsible for nearly half that total.
For the uninitiated, Hermitcraft is a Minecraft community that was founded in April of 2012. Its creators, referred to as “Hermits,” hold various events and activities throughout the year, entertaining both Minecraft fans and gamers alike.
They don’t just set the bar, they are the bar.
To say Hermitcraft has gone above and beyond would be an understatement. This is a group of talented creators that has consistently surpassed expectations when it comes to kids receiving care. Here’s a look at what they’ve done leading up to this year.
In 2022, they hosted their first charity livestream in support of Gamers Outreach. The goal was to raise $25,000 and send GO Karts to hospitals in the United States and abroad. Before the stream even started, Hermitcraft already received over $30,000 in donations, causing them to repeatedly raise their goals until the end of the broadcast, which saw the group raise over $439,000. Not bad for a first time!
A little more than a year later, the Hermits brought their charity livestream to the GFG 2024 LAN Party, wowing fellow creators and attendees with their activities. The result? Over $840,000 was raised. That’s nearly double the amount from their 2022 livestream.
Fast forward to this year. While the Hermits didn’t attend the GFG 2025 LAN Party, we brought GFG to them and were able to have their charity stream hosted at the Mojang studio in Redmond, Washington thanks to our friends at Microsoft and Team Xbox! This two-day livestream raised over $847,000, once again surpassing their previous total!
Not including some smaller collaborations here and there, that’s over $2 million raised in three events. It goes without saying that they’ve made an astronomical impact for both the foundation and children around the world.
Evolving Together
The funds that Hermitcraft raised go further than just delivering GO Karts. Their contributions have helped us modernize and improve the logistics surrounding Project GO Kart. From the GO Kart 3.0‘s design to the way we ship the Karts, the Hermits have been an integral partner in the journey.
The Hermits helped us prepare for the future by unlocking deliveries to new countries, and opening up avenues inour international fulfillment policies. Having GO Karts in countries like Japan, Sweden, and Germany involve a few more logistics, and Hermitcraft’s contributions have ensured that we can make that happen.
Hundreds of GO Karts out in the wild are courtesy of Hermitcraft, and we still have plenty more that we’re actively shipping to other facilities on the Hospital Wishlist. There’s plenty of work to be done!
The GO Karts deployed by Hermitcraft are now providing hundreds of thousands of play sessions annually. Gamers Outreach is all about bringing more smiles to more children in hospitals, and we’re beholden to have such a great partner in Hermitcraft helping with the mission.
GO Karts donated by Hermitcraft can be found at the following healthcare facilities, which we’ve sorted by country. Hospitals in bold are newly reported since the last time we did an impact update. That’s over 50 new hospitals!

A Hermit On The Board
Speaking of great partners, as announced during GFG 2025, Scar is now on our Board of Directors. A respected Hermit, Scar was one of the community’s members who took the lead on the 2022 charity stream and has remained a vigilant ally ever since.
As a voting member of the board, Scar now has direct influence on the direction of Gamers Outreach, while allowing Hermitcraft to have a greater and much deserved say on our foundation.
“Scar’s enthusiasm for our cause has made a tremendous difference and his own experiences having gone through hospitalization have given a lived perspective for how video games can improve health care environments,” said Zach Wigal, Gamers Outreach’s Founder and CEO. “We’re excited he’s lent his voice to our work, and we look forward to collaborating in the years ahead to make an impact for families receiving care.”
Then. Now. Forever. Together.
It’s been a couple years since we’ve had a blog specifically about Hermitcraft, but make no mistake about it — we are eternally grateful to their creators and community. Everything that Gamers Outreach and Hermitcraft has been involved with has seen an incredible amount of change, but one inspiring constant has been the support of both our growing communities.
THANK YOU to the Hermits and the Hermitcraft community for providing your talents and devotion and trusting us with your gifts. A lot of us on the crew wouldn’t even be here if it weren’t for the efforts the Hermits and their community have made, and we want to do right by everybody involved.
Our mission of giving kids access to the power of play is one that will never slow down, and we’re fortunate to have a partner that has always kept up while challenging us to continue improving.
It’s always going to be FOR THE KIDS!
